I started off as a gigantic tower of washing up. Inhabited by a substantial family of mice.Mice has a tenency to creep into the prints that have a lot of details in them already. If there is a lot going on then you can always include a mouse or two.
The dragon was incorporated afterwards. At first I saw him as the protector of the tower. But after a while, working on the etching plate in the printworkshop, I realised that it was his treasure. Some dragons collect gold and precious gems, others go for dirty plates, cups and cutlery.
