TRIVIA
Some prints are more enjoyable to make than others. This one was a fun one.
It’s from the story by Stefan Casta called ‘Gå och bada Mr Räf!’ (Take a bath Mr Fox!). It was my first picturebook collaboration and my first publication in Sweden. The image shows the bad dream of Mr Fox. All the animals of the forest are pointing at him saying 'Grey Fox! Grey Fox!'.
At first my plan was to fill the book-spread with an abundance of different animals. Animals from all over the world, to make it an absurd, irrational dream. But how would the fox know about a giraffe?
So I restricted myself to animals that a fox would have some kind of knowledge of. I tried to pile the animals on top of each other. The more the merrier. When I ran out of species I searched for 'animals of the forest' online or flipped through zoology books. The end-result is still something that I’m proud of.
